For my first principal message I would like to tell everyone a little about myself. I grew up in the Air Force and have lived in Indiana, California, Nebraska, Florida, and New Mexico. I am the fourth of five children in my family. After moving out of the house I lived in South Africa for two years and then came to Utah to go to school and start a family of my own.
Now, my wife and I have lived in Pleasant Grove for the past 9 years and we have four children of our own ranging from a one year old to a 9 year old. We love Pleasant Grove and are here to stay!
I graduated from UVU (then UVSC) with a teaching degree and my masters is from BYU. I have taught third grade for three years, fifth grade for four years, and then fourth grade for one year all at Deerfield Elementary in Cedar Hills. I have been an assistant principal for a year at Orchard Elementary in Orem and two years at Fox Hollow Elementary in Lehi. This will be my first year as a principal!
I have a strong connection to Pleasant Grove and Central Elementary. My Grandpa was mayor of Pleasant Grove and I have aunts and uncles including my dad who attended Central Elementary as children. My Grandma was Strawberry Days Queen and attended Central Elementary when it was the three story building north of the current building.
I am excited to be here and I will do my best to carry on the legacy of achievement and excellence that is Central! Education is a passion of mine and I am confident that I can lead Central’s students and teachers to new heights.
I look forward to meeting all of you and working with you in our goal to give our children a strong foundation for their futures!
